What Kind of Person Do We Elect To The National Board?
Who do we put into office in the NRLCA? Who gets elected? Who doesn’t run that should run? Who has the values that represent the core of Rural Carriers? What can we expect from those who do run and win? Is the bureaucracy working for us or against us? Can we expect help from the USPS? If you are electing someone, do you vote to elect an unflappable, rational well-integrated individual, or do you vote for the bad-tempered radical with knee-jerk reactions, plenty of emotional baggage and buttons to push, a react-now pay-me-later kind of gal/guy? Does the part of the country with the most truly rural style routes win over the part of the country with high-density/ low-pay routes? Is there true representation in all parts of the country or do you feel left way out in the cold because of your location? Does name-recognition get you votes or do people go for the tried and true convention delegate system? Do we elect people with some smarts as well as values?
I’m pretty impressed with Randy Anderson’s credentials and would like to hear Randy’s memoirs some day… A Russian Linguist…wow… That takes some pretty nifty language skills… and he was Air Force, an immediate plus as far as I am concerned being an ex-Air Force airman myself… I always admired those intelligence guys; they were an elite unit almost outside of the Air Force and treated very differently than we non-intelligence types. Makes me think of Area 51 or whatever it is, they were the best of the best in the ground forces of the USAF remotely assigned elite units.
How long will Randy stay?
Any other National Board Member stories to tell?
