Bill Clintons Contribution To History

Listened to C-Span, the Clinton Years today. I hate to say it, but that ‘How History Will Judge His Presidency’ theme kept pointing how great he would be, not his administration, cabinet, and all of the people that voted for him and forged ahead in spite of all the negative publicity his actions generated and the downgrading of the importance of the office. Yes he touched on that, but patting himself on the back kept sneaking in over and over again.
Being a friend of George Bush doesn’t absolve him of disgracing himself in the public eye and flying in the face of the moral foundation we strive for, even though most of us fall short. As brilliant a Rhodes Scholar as he is, he still didn’t get the point of impeachment. All he had to do was walk the walk while in office. The little boy rebelling against his parents, authority, Hillary, public opinion, religious convictions, marriage and family relationships, in the White House overshadowed all of those shining things he and his administration accomplished. He betrayed those of us who went out on a limb and backed him against our better judgment.
Being a minority, doesn’t give you the right to change the will of the majority, as in gay rights. Yes they have rights, but they also have duties and responsibilities to not tear down the fabric of society and the long held institution of marriage and family relations that the majority man/woman biologically anchored covenant religious based value system has long enjoyed protecting those who make a commitment to each other for the sake of their BIOLOGICAL offspring. Sure there are exceptions that closely match those parameters… But they are exceptions to make up for the misfortunes of parents who can’t conceive but present meaningful biological framework for a natural parental family structure inside the acceptable biological mores, not isolating the children by fringe element behavioral ‘’family’’ practices.
The premise that “Everybody does it anyway�? still doesn’t change the ideals in marriage and the Church. Sure the common man can’t act like a rich man with legal muscle, and pretty much break any law and get away with it, but the common man is the heart and soul of any country and it’s backbone too, the fiber that protects us from foreign threats, sacrifices some or all on the battlefield for their country and is given a small edge in getting hired in a public service job if he keeps his nose clean, with reduced medical and retirement benefits. He’s the guy who doesn’t have the time or money to fight a traffic ticket or parking ticket! He’s the guy who has to wait years for a living wage while you rich give your offspring opportunities in abundance. He’s the guy who sucks it up when wronged by a surgeon or bad business practice because he can’t retain a lawyer! Why was everything reduced to the public servant? Because You Mr. President couldn’t keep a straight face in office! Because the rich wish to keep more of their profits!
He damaged his party in ways that his party is unable to overcome. Now we are governed by ruthless little men, capitalists hell-bent on dismantling the good things that were achieved during the ‘90s, making our democracy more of a capitalistic dictatorship ruled by small minded anarchists playing the righteous part, who have no real grounding in this country because their holdings are welcome in any country in the capitalist world, which now is almost all countries world wide.
If it gets a little tough in the U.S., head for any place in the Pacific Rim, or the Bahamas and you can avoid paying taxes or the restraints of a moral leadership. If the leadership gets too good, start a war somewhere, and the moral public will look the other way to protect itself, allowing those large interests like tobacco, drug trade, firearms, the military industrial complex, pharmaceuticals and oil to regain power to flourish and remove our peacetime liberties once enjoyed under President Clinton.
Being a republican doesn’t make you righteous!!! There are many who are righteous on both sides of the isles, and have differing reasons for being on opposite sides. Our government can become too autocratic if unchecked by honest men. Who could trust a single mindset to govern the world fairly? Oops, did I say the world? Think about it. Either directly or indirectly our capitalists govern the world, the world banking industry, and the world stock markets the world drug trade and more.
Mr. President, it wasn’t your fault, that we excelled in the ‘90s, because we were already there! Technology brought on the bubble in the stock markets, and we flourished as long as we were given stock options in the companies that didn’t go broke, and that would have happened no matter who was in charge, but I think we have to evaluate why we excelled, and why we aren’t now. Nouns like China, India and Russia come to mind. Cheap foreign labor! Toyota! Honda! We are losing G.M. products.
We need more open source competition in other areas than software platforms. Bill Gates is a perpetual control-freak. Yah the Windows operating system was needed, but not the monopolistic way in which the cost of the product and, an everybody-paying-the-fee attitude that gouged Americans and the world has allowed. This kind of capitalism is it’s own form of rich socialism…
There is a long-term cost to the public when prices are bloated for laptops, hardware, software and desktop computers, and technology products included in automobiles and other products and of course the badly deserved gouging that 30 pluse million Californians took by the Texas power brokers, electrical power that is.
The software developers who would have been supporting the educational environments were hamstrung by excessive costs to keep up. Gamers are doing more to advance our society than the educational environment, because profit is what drives our world. What does that say about us as a collective of people governed by our ideals? Directly link profit to education and we can probably overcome our educationally challenged country. But, wait a minute; if we are developing the world’s greatest gangster video games, then we have some pretty smart dudes out there!
Both memory prices and hardware prices were not competitive. Someone developing compression routines, were hamstrung by those who developed microdrives, because if you didn’t need the microdrives, you couldn’t market that obsolete hardware technology. Don’t step on the toes of the wrong people or it could become the end of you! BTDT!
What it says to me is we are a highly controlled society by aggressive personalities who don’t consider the public welfare unless is has a positive effect on their ego, political aspirations, and the bottom line in their product offerings. Little financial dictators, good at numbers, who want special privilege, want to go to the front of the line no matter who’s expense, want to be considered history’s best at whatever they do, and the public good be damned! Egomaniacs abound!!!
My question is, if you are a real, true Christian you have to ask; what would Jesus Do? The answer is spelled out in The Bible!

While the premis is interesting, though I have to disagree on some points
As much as you may hate to admit it, but most people go into business to make money, not promote the common good. That being said, most of what gets invented and does well are things that we find that we need to make our lives a little easier and/or make us more money.
While yes the Markets govern the economy, It is consumers that drives the markets. We consumers are the ones that makes this economy go and nothing that Clinton or Bush does can change that fact.
As far as rights being taken away, exactly what rights that are given to us by the Constitution have been taken away. Privacy? Nope. Speech? to a degree. Bear arms? yes.
Why no to privacy, simply put, there is a law on the books Known as the Foriegn Intellegance Suveillance Act (FISA) which allows for secret searches with secret search warrants and some survallience where warrants are not required, FISA was enacted by Jimmy Carter in 1977. Executive Orders by both Carter and Reagan allowed the FBI to monitor all calls going into and out of the country looking for anything that would lead to disrupting an attack on US soil. After 9/11 happened, everyone went after our Government for not connecting the dots, and when we try to do exactly that, we cry Privacy. Which is it?
As it stands right now, No power has been abused as of yet, but there is a body that helps keep things in check. It’s called a FISA court. These Judges make sure that what the FBI wants qualifies under FISA.

What percentage of society are among the truly rich?
The state owns your property if you have a mortgage, or if they deem it necessary to use “Eminent Domain” to acquire your land for their purposes.
If you are on a Bill Gates “Roller Coaster Ride�, then you are just exercising your need to solve the problem of being the best and staying on top of the competition. You have to pull the rug out from under the competition to do that. You have to steal the ideas of the little guy trying a garage startup because you managed to get a foothold early.
Too many times those who make it to the top, often have to bribe a congressman or law enforcement to stay there.
The rest of us are damaged by the bad habits of those schemers who find a way to extract money from the tax coffers, i.e. insurance scams, price gouging Californians for energy by manipulating markets, bankruptcy laws that protect schemers and allow them to rip-off the unsuspecting hard working public, while giving people like Martha Stewart a slap on the hand. Bank officers that collect points on ever inflating property values, the “Greenspans� of the world feeding this frenzy by lowering tax rates at strategic times, fueling cost push inflation by manipulating the money supply.
How is it, that I know economic professors, who aren’t rich, they teach the subject, what are they teaching, if they can’t take advantage of what they know? What a system… where a garage band, or garage geek gets all the prizes while the rest of us can’t hang on to any kind of hope for the future. We are overcharged for drugs when we become feeble, cheated on our bank loans, over insured on our property, while the insurance companies can’t pay to replace property insured in a storm, or an earthquake or a fire or a flood. When we drive on the highway, there are far too few police officers to catch the perps, speeding and driving recklessly. Veterans are promised the best in healthcare, and then abandoned when it comes time to need the health care.
Now the snobbery of the media in education circles are marginalizing teachers who have invested a large amount of their money and time to get where they are, and then belittled by the arrogant academic bullies who target the teaching profession as a bonafied profession. You say the free market works and I ask for whom? As a teacher you are expected to bring children into the age of literacy when their parents are offended by the very idea of someone educating their children. Doesn’t matter what income level they come from they fight the teaching professions tooth-and-nail.
We spend 18 years in school and college, to get a foot in the door of a living wage, and are considered idiots by those who make us jump the academic hoops while someone else gets hired. We’re supposed to be proud of our country, but what does our country give us to be proud of? Maybe a home team winning at football, basketball, baseball, and then we say America the beautiful because we are proud of our team?
I guess we can be proud that Honda took over the mini-van market, that Toyota took over the small pickup market, and that Dodge can’t put a decent transmission in it’s vehicles. Ford eliminated the mini-van market, which by the way, is the family transportation market. G.M. and the Airline industry are threatening the retirement payroll of their employees.
We have an obesity problem in this country, which translates into immune dysfunction and diabetes. Our lifestyles dictate that we keep on a squirrel cage until we drop dead from the side effects of working ourselves into the ground. Some of us are lucky enough to squirrel away some money to make a fast dash at enjoying our golden years, but then we are faced with the debts that come with declining health of our later years.
These problems are overcome by those in the good-ol-boy network, those who take care of the special friends they have but the rest of society has to sit and wait to for favors from government, and hope that we can convince them to employ us enough to get by, and beg for favor at the social security trough, or the Medicare trough or the Veterans Association trough in our final years.
Now they are making so confusing to receive medicines, that people are complaining about the obstacles thrown in the way to collect.
My wealth is my family, and that can disappear overnight with a traffic accident, health condition, or other factors including divorce.
I would like to think we as a group of beings can find a better way to coexist than always needing to be stronger than them over there, richer than him or her, better looking than he or she, more knowledgeable than everybody.
We breed like flies and then use the males to fight devastating wars to prove we are the mighty until the cannon fodder gets smart and decides not to buy into that goal in life.

Another Clinton is about to make a run at the Oval Office, piggybacking on the last Clintonian era. The military budget will suffer, but the social services budget will blossom. Gays will climb to new heights, and probably be elevated in stature far above normal heterosexual beings. Women will now be considered superior to men. Blacks now feel the need to exterminate all white folks to make up for white atrocities in the past. (They ignore the Truth of their own kind selling them into slavery to begin with.) But all of their problems are the fault of “whitie”.
