Ok, Now what do we do? The NRLCA members have turned down the contract proposal by the USPS. I just found out that after 25 years service I can retire with about $8,000 per year. Then at 59 and 1/2 I could pull out my Thrift Savings Account and roll it into an annuity. How do I pay the bills until 59 and 1/2? I have to keep on working until I drop or get to 62 years of age. Well, Dick, a City Carrier who in 2 years will be ready to retire with 42 years of service, will receive 80% of his pay because he retired under the old retirement system called CSRS or Civil Service Retirement System, (the old system.) Congress really stuck it to the FERS employees including retired military. Please chime in here. This needs to be addressed. If you think entitlements are a problem, please address your opinions here. If you feel betrayed by your congress people then that needs to be addressed as well.
